Jets 2, Avalanche 1 (OT)
Bryan Little scored 4:35 into overtime as Winnipeg posted its second win in three games.
In the extra session, Andrew Ladd corralled a loose puck in the left corner before slowly skating around the perimeter. The captain elected to backhand a shot from above the faceoff circles that Little deflected past Semyon Varlamov to send MTS Centre into a frenzy.
Ladd scored his 100th goal with the franchise and Ondrej Pavelec turned aside 22 shots for the Jets, who wrapped up their five-game homestand with a 2-3-0 record. Defenseman Zach Bogosian joined Dustin Byfuglien and Michael Frolik with an assist in the win.
Jamie McGinn scored for the second straight contest and Varlamov finished with 26 saves for the Avalanche, who went 3-0-2 versus their Central Division rival last season. Defenseman Tyson Barrie picked up his team-leading sixth assist and Alex Tanguay added his second of the season.
Ladd redirected Bogosian's shot between the pads of Varlamov at 6:25 of the first period to open the scoring. Colorado answered on the power play with 18 seconds left in the session as McGinn buried the rebound of Barrie's one-timer to forge a tie.
