Kings 2, Bruins 0

Jonathan Quick extended his franchise lead with his 34th career shutout as Los Angeles recorded its fourth win in five home games.

Tanner Pearson and Tyler Toffoli scored while Anze Kopitar notched a pair of assists for the Kings, who had lost three of four. Quick made 31 saves to post his third blanking of the season and end a brief two-game skid.

Niklas Svedberg stopped 33 shots for Boston, which did not receive a power-play opportunity in the contest. The Bruins outshot the Kings 12-6 in the third period but went on to lose for the fourth time in five games - both on the road and overall.

Los Angeles doubled Boston's shot total in the first period and ended the session with a 1-0 lead. Kopitar grabbed a loose puck at the top of the slot and dished it to Pearson, who swept it past Svedberg from low in the right faceoff circle.

Quick made the goal stand, turning aside eight shots in the first period and 11 in the second before making 12 saves over the final 20 minutes. Toffoli sealed the win by scoring into an empty net with 50 seconds remaining in the third.
