Jakub Voracek recorded a goal and an assist to raise his team-leading point total to 37 as host Philadelphia handed Carolina its fifth straight loss.
Wayne Simmonds and Scott Laughton also notched a goal and an assist apiece for the Flyers, who extended their point streak to five games (3-0-2). Sean Couturier and Michael Raffl also tallied, Brayden Schenn and captain Claude Giroux each registered two assists and Steve Mason finished with 25 saves.
Captain Eric Staal netted the lone goal for the Hurricanes, who have been limited to one in each game during their losing streak. Anton Khudobin stopped 18 shots in falling to 0-7-2 on the season.
Couturier extended his point streak to six games by burying a rebound from below the end line 53 seconds into the contest. Simmonds made it 2-0 at 11:27 with a rocket of a slap shot from the top of the right faceoff circle that resulted in his team-leading 13th tally.
Staal scored on a wraparound during a man advantage 2:06 into the second period, but Voracek answered with a power-play tally of his own 2:48 later. Laughton scored his first NHL goal at 7:29 and Raffl’s wrist shot midway through the session was all Philadelphia needed to cruise to victory.
