Canadiens 2, Predators 1 (OT)
Defenseman P.K. Subban scored a power-play goal at 4:08 of overtime to give host Montreal a comeback victory.
With Craig Smith serving a tripping penalty, Subban ripped a shot from above the slot between Carter Hutton's pads for the winning tally. Subban and Alex Galchenyuk each finished with a goal and an assist while All-Star Carey Price returned from an upper-body injury to turn aside 36 shots.
Mike Ribeiro scored for the Predators, who fell to 8-1-3 in their last 12 contests. Hutton finished with 25 saves.
Nashville was forced to settle for a scoreless tie after one period despite outshooting Montreal by a 14-4 margin. The Predators finally broke through with 7:50 remaining in the second as Ribeiro tipped defenseman Seth Jones' slap shot from the right point past Price for his 10th goal.
The Canadiens did not register their first shot of the second session until the 10:43 mark and were unable to solve Hutton until 2:02 of the third. Subban unleashed a blast from above the right faceoff circle that Galchenyuk redirected during a power play to forge a tie.
