Penguins 4, Blues 2

Blake Comeau recorded his second multi-goal performance of the season and added an assist as visiting Pittsburgh snapped its three-game losing streak.

Patric Hornqvist and Brandon Sutter also scored for the Penguins, who tallied just once in each game during their skid. Thomas Greiss came within 5 1/2 minutes of his first shutout of the campaign, finishing with 21 saves.

Dmitrij Jaskin and defenseman Ian Cole scored for the Blues, who fell to 1-2-0 on their four-game homestand while losing in regulation for the fourth time in their last 21 overall contests (16-4-1). Vladimir Tarasenko notched two assists and Brian Elliott turned aside 25 shots in dropping to 5-2-1 lifetime against the Penguins.

Pittsburgh got on the board with 3:29 remaining in the first period as a clearing attempt by a Blues defender from behind the net hit Comeau, who backhanded the puck between Elliott's pads from the doorstep. Hornqvist doubled the lead during a power play 6:26 into the middle session, burying a shot from the inner edge of the right faceoff circle after receiving a pass from captain Sidney Crosby.

Comeau made it 3-0 with 4:22 left in the session, when he tipped defenseman Simon Despres' shot from the blue line past Elliott for his 14th of the season. Sutter added a man-advantage goal at 12:21 of the third, backhanding a shot from the slot that beat Elliott to the glove side, before Jaskin spoiled Greiss' shutout bid with 5:27 remaining.
