Kings 4, Canucks 0
Jonathan Quick turned aside 19 shots for his 36th career shutout as visiting Los Angeles beat Vancouver for the third time in as many meetings this season.
Quick's fifth blanking of the season helped the Kings earn their 12th win in 16 games and leapfrog the Winnipeg Jets for the second Western Conference wild-card spot. Justin Williams and Anze Kopitar each had a goal and an assist while Tyler Toffoli and Marian Gaborik also scored.
Eddie Lack made 16 saves for the Canucks, who were blanked for the fifth time this season. Vancouver leads Los Angeles by just one point in the race for second place in the Pacific Division.
Toffoli kicked off the scoring with 3:19 remaining in the opening period, gathering a cross-ice pass from Williams at the bottom of the right circle on the power play and firing a wrist shot past Lack's right shoulder. Williams doubled the lead just before the four-minute mark of the second, swatting defenseman Brayden McNabb's feed into a partially open net.
Kopitar made it a 3-0 game just 25 seconds into the final period, stickhandling between a pair of Canucks before unleashing a wrist shot from below the right circle that beat Lack on the short side. Vancouver pulled the goaltender with more than 4 1/2 minutes remaining to try and ignite a rally, but Gaborik scored into the empty net and Quick held the Canucks at bay the rest of the way.
