Kings 3, Blues 0

ST. LOUIS -- Center Jeff Carter scored on a second-period power play and backup goalie Jhonas Enroth recorded the shutout for the Los Angeles Kings in a 3-0 win Tuesday night over the St. Louis Blues.

The Kings, who had a seven-game winning streak snapped Monday night in Chicago, bounced back to hand the Blues their first regulation loss at home this season and end goalie Jake Allen and St. Louis' three-game winning streak.

Carter's goal, his fifth of the season, came just nine seconds after Blues' right winger Troy Brouwer was called for tripping defenseman Drew Doughty with 4:17 to play in the second period, giving the Kings a four-on-three power play.

Carter set up on the edge of the goal and banked a shot off the shoulder of Allen, who kept the game scoreless with several big saves through the first two periods.

Left winger Tanner Pearson increased the lead to 2-0 on an odd-man rush with his second goal of the year with 4:33 to play in the game and center Trevor Lewis added an empty-net goal in the final minute to finish off the victory.

Enroth, starting for only the second time this season in place of number one goalie Jonathan Quick, had to stop 24 St. Louis shots to earn his sixth career shutout. Enroth's biggest save came when he stopped a shot by Blues' right winger Vladimir Tarasenko on a breakaway in the second period.

Enroth's only other game this season was on Oct. 22 in a 4-1 win at San Jose.

The Blues were 0-of-4 on the power-play and have not scored a power-play goal in 21 chances in their six home games this season.

Kings' center Anze Kopitar had to leave the game after the first period with an upper-body injury. Kopitar appeared to take an elbow to the face from Blues' right winger Ryan Reaves and had trouble making it to the bench. He did return to play later in the period but did not play in the final two periods.
