Devils 3, Canucks 2

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Left winger Mike Cammalleri scored a goal and collected two assists as the New Jersey Devils defeated the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 Sunday night.

Defenseman Andy Greene, on a power play, and left winger Adam Henrique also scored for the Devils (11-8-1) who ended a two-game losing skid.

Center Henrik Sedin, short-handed, and right winger Radim Vrbata, on a power play with 0.6 seconds left, scored for the Canucks. Vancouver (8-8-6) has just one win in its past six games (1-4-1).

Devils goaltender Cory Schneider, a former Canuck, made 36 saves, including one on a third-period penalty shot.

Vancouver goaltender Jacob Markstrom, making his third start of the season, stopped 19 shots.

The Devils took a 2-0 lead on a power-play goal at 1:31 of the third period. Cammalleri sent a pass back to the point. Greene fired a shot from just inside the blue line that beat Markstrom after appearing to change direction.

The Canucks have allowed at least one power-play goal in nine of the last 10 games. Vancouver was 1-for-6 on the power play against New Jersey.

The Canucks were awarded a penalty shot at 5:14 when Devils defenseman John Moore was called for putting his hand on the puck in the crease. Vrbata couldn't beat Schneider on a backhand.

A mistake by Schneider allowed Sedin to cut the margin to 2-1 at 7:21 of the third period. With the Devils on a power play, Schneider attempted a clearing pass that was intercepted by left winger Daniel Sedin. He passed to Henrik Sedin, who beat Schneider on the blocker side.

Henrique made 3-1 at 9:25, picking up his own rebound of a blocked shot and shooting a puck through traffic past Markstrom.

Cammalleri scored the game's first goal with just 65 second gone in the second period.

A turnover by Canucks defenseman Alex Edler turned into a scramble in front of the Vancouver goal. Right winger Kyle Palmieri gained control of the puck at the side of the net and slid it out front to an open Cammalleri. He patiently waited for Markstrom to commit himself, then slipped the puck under the goaltender's leg.

The Devils came close a few minutes later when defenseman Eric Gelinas rang a shot off the crossbar behind Markstrom.
