Penguins 3, Panthers 2 (OT)

SUNRISE, Fla. -- The Pittsburgh Penguins got an overtime goal by Kris Letang with 3:33 left to snap the Florida Panthers' five-game win streak, rallying for a 3-2 win on Saturday night at the BB&T Center.

Center Sidney Crosby got the assist and finished with three points, including the 900th of his career. Letang also had three points.

The Penguins, trailing 2-0, got a goal by Letang with 5:04 left in the third period.

After reaching the milestone by assisting on Letang's goal, Crosby tied the score with 1:15 left when the puck went in off his leg. After a slow start this season, Crosby has a six-game goal streak and eight goals during that span.

Pittsburgh (26-18-7), which had backup goaltender Jeff Zatkoff in the nets, has won five of its past six games.

Florida (31-16-5) got a second-period power-play goal from left winger Jussi Jokinen and a third-period short-handed score by center Aleksander Barkov. Jokinen got the assist on Barkov's goal.

Goalie Roberto Luongo had his franchise-record nine-game win streak ended.

Florida dominated a scoreless first period, putting up 20 of the 29 shots. But Pittsburgh successfully killed off two penalties.

The Panthers' power play finally clicked with 13:57 left in the second period as Jokinen scored on a bad-angle shot from below the left circle. The puck bounced in off of Zatkoff's body.

It was the fifth straight game in which Florida has scored a power-play goal.

Barkov made it 2-0 with 10:45 left in the third period. Jokinen's excellent pass sprung him for a breakaway, and Barkov beat Zatkoff with a backhander.

The game also marked Florida's seventh sellout of the season. The Panthers had only five last season, when they ranked 30th in the NHL in attendance. This year, Panthers attendance is up 30 percent, and they are ranked 25th in the league.
