Blues 2, Kings 1 (OT)

ST. LOUIS -- Left winger Jaden Schwartz scored 1:39 into overtime to lift the St. Louis Blues to a 2-1 win Thursday night over the Los Angeles Kings.

The Blues improved to 5-0-1 in their last six games while the Kings lost their third consecutive game, equaling their longest losing streak of the season when they lost their first three games in October.

Schwartz's unassisted goal came just 29 seconds after goalie Brian Elliott robbed left winger Milan Lucic with a glove save.

Trailing 1-0 after two periods, the Kings tied the game on a power-play goal by right winger Tyler Toffoli 3:25 into the third period. The goal, Toffoli's 24th of the year but only his second in 13 games, came while Blues' defenseman Joel Edmundson was serving an interference penalty.

The Kings kept the game tied by killing off 1:54 of a 5-on-3 advantage for the Blues midway through the period when they were whistled for two penalties six seconds apart.

Left winger Robby Fabbri had put the Blues ahead with his 14th of the year, with a power play goal after goalie Jonathan Quick was called for tripping Blues' left winger Scottie Upshall at 11:32 of the first period.

Fabbri scored with 10 seconds remaining in the penalty off of a give-and-go with center Jori Lehtera. It was the third goal in four games for the 20-year-old rookie.

The Kings appeared to tie the game at 9:49 of the second period on a goal from defenseman Drew Doughty, but it was waved off because of a crosschecking penalty against right winger Jordan Nolan in front of the Blues' net.

The Blues, who came into the game with the top-ranked penalty kill unit in the league, held the Kings' scoreless on their first four power plays of the game before Toffoli's goal.

Center Anze Kopitar, one of the Kings' best offensive players, left the game with what was announced as a lower-body injury in the first period.
