Sharks 4, Canucks 1

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- The San Jose Sharks scored four third-period goals to overcome a 1-0 deficit and defeat the Vancouver Canucks 4-1 Sunday.

Center Joe Pavelski had a goal and added an assist for the Sharks (33-22-6). Center Tomas Hertl, left winger Patrick Marleau, on the power play, and defenseman Justin Braun, into an empty net, also scored for San Jose. Defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic had two assists for the Sharks, who are 6-2-2 in their last 10 games.

Left winger Daniel Sedin scored for the Canucks (24-25-12), who saw a two-game win streak snapped. Vancouver has yet to win three consecutive games this season. It also was the 10th time this season the Canucks lost after leading after two periods.

Vancouver goaltender Ryan Miller stopped 24 shots. San Jose goalie Martin Jones made 23 saves.

Pavelski tied the game 1-1 at 4:22 of the third. He picked up a loose puck in the corner, swooped around Vancouver defenseman Luca Sbisa and beat Miller with a backhand to the stick side. It was Pavelski's team-leading 27th goal.

The Sharks took the lead just 2:28 later. Braun took a shot from the blue line that Hertl deflected past Miller at 6:49 for his 15th of the year.

Marleau made it 3-1 at 14:09 with the Sharks on a two-man advantage. He took center Joe Thornton's pass from down low and fired a shot from the blue line that beat Miller over his shoulder.

Vancouver scored the game's first goal at 3:03 of the second period, just seconds after the Sharks killed off an interference penalty to Braun.

Daniel Sedin, positioned at the side of the net, took a pass from center Henrik Sedin, then launched a shot from a sharp angle. Jones made the save but couldn't control the rebound. Several players whacked at the loose puck before Daniel Sedin jammed it past Jones.

The goal was the 350th of Daniel Sedin's career. He's the 60th NHL player to reach that total and just the fifth Swede. It also was his ninth point (2 goals, 7 assists) in his last seven games.

The first period was scoreless and without a penalty.
