Devils 5, Predators 4 (OT)

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Nashville Predators set a franchise record by earning a point in their 11th consecutive game, but the New Jersey Devils stole two points as a result of their power-play success.

Center Adam Henrique scored at 1:54 of overtime, 12 seconds into a power play after goalie Pekka Rinne was called for delay of game, as New Jersey rallied for a 5-4 victory Thursday night at sold-out Bridgestone Arena.

Nashville took a 4-3 lead at 17:56 of the third with Filip Forsberg's 27th goal of the season -- his 13th in the past 13 games. However, New Jersey emptied the net for an extra attacker and forced overtime at 19:20 when Adam Henrique potted a rebound for his 21st marker.

Rinne then covered the puck outside the crease and earned a minor penalty. Henrique converted a rebound for the Devils' third power-play goal of the night, enabling them to up their record to 31-27-7 and snap a three-game losing streak.

The Predators (33-21-12) improved to 7-0-4 in their past 11 games, but they saw their five-game winning streak end as they fell to 1-11 in overtime decisions.

The Devils tied it at 9:13 of the third with their second power-play goal, center Travis Zajac converting on a wrister from the left faceoff circle for his 10th tally of the season.

Rinne made 28 saves for Nashville, while New Jersey goalie Keith Kinkaid, filling in for regular starter Cory Schneider, stopped 30 of 34 shots.

The first period was all about power-play goals. Nashville hit the scoreboard first at 8:48 as Craig Smith scored his 16th on a one-timer off a cross-ice feed from Shea Weber. It was Smith's third goal in as many games.

New Jersey right winger Kyle Palmieri equalized at 16:00 with a marker on the man advantage, wristing a rebound home after Rinne saved Jacob Josefson's initial shot. It was Palmieri's 24th goal.

Mike Ribeiro made it 2-1 Predators at 17:13 with his seventh goal, tipping home a point blast by defenseman Roman Josi. It occurred 27 seconds after Adam Larsson went off for holding James Neal.

Nashville upped its lead to two goals at 2:39 of the second period with a fourth-line tally. Paul Gaustad scored for the second time this season, slipping a backhander under Kinkaid after a pretty pass from Austin Watson.

The Devils responded at 7:23 with a rebound goal by Devante Smith-Pelly, who jammed home his seventh marker after Rinne couldn't control the initial shot by Jon Merrill.
