Stars 3, Blues 2 (OT)
ST. LOUIS -- Cody Eakin scored 2:58 into overtime to give the Dallas Stars a 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues Thursday night, tying their second-round playoff series at 2-2.
A turnover led to the winning goal as Patrick Sharp hit Eakin with a pass and he fired the shot past goaltender Brian Elliott for his first goal of the playoffs.
It was the second game to go to overtime in the series, with St. Louis winning Game 2 on David Backes' goal.
Game 5 will be Saturday in Dallas.
The Blues tied the game on a power-play goal from Paul Stastny -- his first tally of the playoffs -- after giving up two goals 1:09 apart early in the second period.
With St. Louis on a 4-on-3 power-play, Stastny redirected a pass from Vladimir Tarasenko at 13:06 of the second period.
Two mistakes by the Blues led to the quick goals by the Stars, wiping out a 1-0 St. Louis lead which came on a breakaway score by Tarasenko at 10:17 of the first period -- the first time in the four games the Blues had scored first.
It was Tarasenko's 16th career goal in 24 playoff games.
The first miscue came on a bad pass from rookie defenseman Joel Edmundson, which gave the puck to the Stars' Radek Faksa in front of the St. Louis net and he buried a shot past Elliott 4:05 into the second period to tie the game.
Sixteen seconds later, David Backes was called for tripping, which led to a power-play goal from Patrick Sharp -- his first goal of the series -- at 5:14. It was the first power-play goal by the Stars in 13 chances in the series.
Dallas goaltender Kari Lehtonen made 24 saves while Elliott stopped 25 shots.
