Lightning edge Sens in OT
OTTAWA -- Victor Hedman's goal with 53.9 seconds left in overtime gave the surging Tampa Bay Lightning a 2-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre on Tuesday night.
The win was the fourth in a row for the Lightning and marked the sixth consecutive game in which Tampa picked up at least a point.
The loss stopped the Senators' winning streak at six games.
Hedman's winner came off a 2-on-1 with Ondrej Palat.
The Lightning were called for too many men on the ice with 1:58 left in the third, but killed off the penalty.
Brayden Point scored in regulation for the Lightning (34-26-9). Tommy Wingels scored for the Senators (39-22-7).
Mike Condon made 35 saves for the Senators while Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 31 shots in the Tampa net.
The Lightning opened the scoring at 3:05 of the first period, when Point scored his third in two games and 12th of the season. Condon made the initial stop off a shot by Jake Dotchin, but allowed the rebound to squirt out to Point, who had an open side staring him in the face.
The Senators tied it up at 2:35 of the second period when Wingels stepped off the bench to find a loose puck rolling his way. From just outside the right-wing face-off circle he blasted a slap shot that beat Vasilevskiy low on the stick side.
Tampa led 22-20 on the shots clock after two periods.

Lightning C Vladislav Namestnikov was scratched ... Lightning C Tyler Johnson and C Cedric Paquette both missed their third consecutive game to lower-body injuries.
