Sutter, Sedin lift Canucks past Blackhawks in OT

CHICAGO -- Brandon Sutter scored a pair of goals in regulation, and Daniel Sedin scored with 2:48 to go in overtime to lift the Vancouver Canucks to a 5-4 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night.

Henrik Sedin and Reid Boucher also scored as Vancouver (29-34-9) snapped a six-game winless streak.

Ryan Hartman scored twice as the Blackhawks erased a three-goal deficit in the third period. Marian Hossa and Richard Panik also scored for the Blackhawks (47-20-6).

Vancouver goaltender Ryan Miller stopped 40 of 44 shots to improve to earn his first win since March 4.

Chicago goaltender Corey Crawford allowed four goals on 10 shots before he was replaced with 17:45 remaining in the third period. Scott Darling stopped four of five shots in relief.

Sutter increased Vancouver's lead to 4-1 with his second goal of the game and 17th goal of the season with 17:45 to go in the third period. Sutter scored on a two-on-one rush to chase Crawford from the game.

A power-play goal by Hossa trimmed Vancouver's lead to 4-2 with 14:12 to play.

Chicago pulled within 4-3 less than three minutes later on Panik's wrist shot from the high slot. Panik became the sixth Blackhawks player with at least 20 goals this season.

Hartman evened the score at 4 with an extra attacker on the ice for the Blackhawks with 1:03 left in regulation.

Daniel Sedin finished the scoring with a wrist shot for his 14th goal. Officials reviewed the play for goaltender interference, but the call was confirmed. Darling barked at the officiating crew as he left the ice.

A brother-to-brother connection gave Vancouver a 1-0 lead with 59.5 seconds left in the first period. Daniel Sedin snapped a pass from the right circle to Henrik Sedin, who redirected the puck past Crawford for his 14th goal of the season and his first in the past eight games.

Vancouver increased its lead to 2-0 in the first two minutes of the second period. Canucks left winger Jayson Megna stole the puck from Blackhawks center Nick Schmaltz and found Sutter in front of the crease. Sutter scored his 16th goal of the season on a dazzling maneuver from his forehand to his backhand.

Chicago cut the deficit to 2-1 on a power-play goal by Hartman with 16:45 to go in the second period. Hartman sprinted toward the crease and turned to his backhand for his 17th goal of the season.

Less than five minutes later, Boucher put Vancouver on top 3-1 with a redirected shot.
