Magic 109, Wizards 103
Ryan Anderson scored 23 points and Dwight Howard had 21 points and 18 rebounds to help the Orlando Magic to a 109-103 victory over the visiting Washington Wizards on Wednesday.
J.J. Redick also scored 21 points and Hedo Turkoglu added 16 as Orlando broke a four-game losing streak and won for just the second time in seven games.
Nick Young scored 24 points, Rashard Lewis added 20 and Jordan Crawford tallied 19 for Washington, which dropped to 1-9 on the road.
Anderson hit six 3-pointers as Orlando made 13 of 30 from behind the arc while beating the Wizards for the eighth consecutive time.
The game was tied at 71-71 early in the final quarter before Orlando went ahead to stay on back-to-back 3-pointers by Chris Duhon and Von Wafer.
The Magic boosted the lead to 89-77 on a basket by Glen Davis with 5:13 to play. Young started Washington’s late-game run with a rare four-point play and Lewis hit a 3-pointer to pull with the Wizards within 94-90 with 2:41 left.
Orlando led by nine in the final minute before Young’s 3-pointer and Trevor Booker’s tip-in had the Wizards down just 101-97 with 47.7 seconds left. Anderson hit his sixth 3-pointer five seconds later and the Magic hung on.
Washington’s John Wall had just two points on 1-of-12 shooting, but had 10 assists. The Wizards made 12 of 23 3-point attempts.
