Wild 5, Canucks 1

Matt Cullen scored twice and the Minnesota Wild set a franchise record for shots on goal in a home game on the way to a 5-1 rout of the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night.

Guillaume Latendresse, Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Marco Scandella added goals and Josh Harding remained unbeaten in regulation with a 24-save effort as the Wild won their third straight game, peppering Canucks netminder Cory Schneider with 45 shots in the process. Minnesota has allowed just two goals during the streak.

Vancouver's Dan Hamhuis had the lone goal of the first period, popping the puck over Harding's shoulder from just in front of the crease at 2:20.

Latendresse evened things up at 4:47 of the second period and Bouchard put Minnesota ahead for good just 21 seconds later, slapping a shot from just inside the right circle that beat Schneider over the right shoulder.

Scandella capped the big second period at 17:05, wiring a one-time pass from Kyle Brodziak past a partially screened Schneider.

Cullen scored a pair of third-period goals to put the game out of reach.
