Internet and Social Media Offer New Ways to Enjoy Masters

The Masters begins play today at hallowed Augusta National Golf Club. 97 players will be vying for the chance to be in contention on the back nine late on Sunday afternoon and don the green jacket.

In past years the Masters limited television coverage and internet access, but times change and it now offers live streaming on its website: www.Masters.com.

If you were rushing around to make into work on time on Thursday morning and missed the ceremonial start of the Masters, you can catch it on video at the Masters website: http://www.masters.com/en_US/index.html

Watch ‘The King,’ ‘The Black Knight’ and the ‘Golden Bear’ strike their drives off the first tee to officially open play in the 78th Masters.

The website offers live coverage of ‘Amen Corner,’ Nos. 11, 12 and13 (http://www.masters.com/en_US/live/index.html) and also holes Nos. 15 and 16. Throughout the years, these holes have proved to be key at Augusta National.

Twitter will also enhance your Masters experience. Pick 10 or 20 of your favorite golf tweeps and add them to your twitter scroll. Ian Poulter, Rory McIlroy, Matt Ginella, Geoff Shackleford and Gary Williams are just a few of the active names on Twitter.

Also check out who they follow and add some of them to your list. Watching the coverage on either your computer screen or on your television will be greatly enhanced with comments from these insiders on twitter.

It will give you the feeling that you are standing around the water cooler at work and talking about the first major tournament of the year.

Although no live coverage can be broadcast, Golf Channel’s Live From the Masters will provide updates and analysis all day leading up to the live coverage on ESPN. Of course their Watch ESPN can bring the coverage to your mobile device.

Smart phones, tablets, computer screens, television and even Twitter provide a variety of outlets to view and appreciate the Masters coverage this year.

ESPN and CBS provide the live coverage each day. ESPN will bring the beautiful images of the first two rounds at Augusta National to the big screen in your living room, 3:00-7:30 PM ET on Thursday and Friday.

On the weekend Jim Nantz, David Feherty, Ian Baker-Finch, Sir Nick Faldo and the rest of the CBS crew will provide the live broadcast from 3:00-7:00 PM ET.

If you want, you can even catch the action old-school, by listening to the radio broadcast through your ear buds while driving or at your desk.

A complete listing of the various media outlet broadcast times are available at: http://www.masters.com/en_US/tournament/schedule.html.

The various media outlets now available allow us more options than ever before to enjoy the Masters, at home or away.
