Rory won four events on the PGA Tour this year. The Honda Classic was a regular tour event in March. The Deutsche Bank and BMW were FedEx Cup Playoff events in September. He also added his second major title at the PGA Championship from Kiawah Island in August which also counted as his lone win on the European Tour this year.
The leader board at the DP World Golf Championship is littered with major winners.
2010 Open Championship winner at St. Andrews, Louis Oosthuizen is tied with 2011 Masters Champion, Charl Schwartzel three shots back of the leaders at 14-under par.
