Nets 89, Hawks 82
Devin Harris scored 22 points and Brook Lopez added 16, leading the New Jersey Nets to an 89-82 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday.
New Jersey scored the first seven points of the fourth quarter to break away from a 64-64 tie. The lead reached 80-70 with just over four minutes to play and the Nets (8-20) held on from there to win for only the second time in their last 11 games.
Mike Bibby led Atlanta, which has lost three of four, with 19 points. Josh Smith, who was in foul trouble the entire game, scored 15 points and had 10 rebounds. Al Horford had a double-double, also scoring 15 points with 10 rebounds.
The Nets have beaten the Hawks twice in three meetings this season, thanks mostly to the play of Harris and Lopez. Harris has scored 67 points while Lopez has scored 72.
The Hawks (17-12) were ahead for most of the first half and led by as many as nine in the second quarter. The Nets scored the final five points of the period to tie the game 41-41 at halftime.
The Hawks played without guard Jamal Crawford, who has missed the last three games with a sore back. Crawford has scored 47 points in two games against the Nets this season.
