Clippers 100, Kings 99
Eric Gordon scored 31 points and Blake Griffin recorded his 19th consecutive double-double to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a 100-99 victory over the host Sacramento Kings on Monday.
Griffin had 24 points and 14 rebounds as the Clippers (10-22) won for the fifth time in six games.
Sacramento’s Tyreke Evans scored a season-high 32 points but missed a free throw that would have tied the game with 1.9 seconds left.
Evans was fouled while shooting a 3-pointer and made the first two free throws before missing the third. The ball was tipped back toward Evans, who missed a short shot at the buzzer that would’ve given the Kings an improbable victory.
Sacramento (5-23) has now lost eight straight games and 22 of their last 24 contests.
The Kings trailed by nine before rolling off eight straight points to close to within 96-95 on a 3-pointer by Evans with 1:23 remaining.
A breakaway dunk by Griffin dunk gave the Clippers a 100-97 lead with 5.1 seconds left.
Omri Casspi had 16 points and Beno Udrih added 14 points for the Kings.
Sacramento made a season-high 13 3-point baskets. Casspi and Francisco Garcia each had four treys and Evans made three.
Baron Davis had 11 points and nine assists and Al Faroqu-Aminu had 11 points and eight rebounds for Los Angeles.
