Pelicans' Davis exits with hip injury
NEW YORK -- Pelicans forward Anthony Davis sustained a left hip injury in the third quarter Monday and missed the rest of New Orleans' game against the New York Knicks.
Davis went crashing into the first row of the baseline stands after he was contacted from behind on a flagrant foul by the Knicks' Kyle O'Quinn on a layup attempt.
O'Quinn was ejected, and Davis left for the locker room after hitting both free throws with 1:16 left in the third and the Pelicans ahead 87-63.
Davis finished with a game-high 40 points.
