Wild at Blues

THE STORY: There may not be a worse place than St. Louis for the Minnesota Wild to try and halt a six-game losing skid. That's the fate the Wild face as they take on the Blues in a Saturday afternoon tilt. The Blues are marching toward a high seed in the Western Conference thanks to the most dominant home-ice showing in the league. St. Louis is 25-3-4 in its own building on the season, earning 54 of a possible 64 points on home ice. The struggling Wild are coming off an 0-3-1 homestand in which they scored just seven goals.

ABOUT THE WILD (25-23-9): Devin Setoguchi provided the lone highlight in Minnesota's last game, scoring twice and adding an assist in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Winnipeg Jets. It was Setoguchi's first multi-goal game in nearly a year. Minnesota's power play, one of the club's weak spots for most of the season, has connected in three of the last four games to push its overall success rate over the 15 percent mark for the campaign.

ABOUT THE BLUES (35-15-7): St. Louis hasn't made things easy for opposing teams, particularly over the last three months. The Blues have points in 20 consecutive home games and have gone 8-0-1 in their last nine at the Scottrade Center. The main reason for St. Louis' success has been the sensational goaltending tandem of All-Star Brian Elliott and Jaroslav Halak, who are allowing fewer than 1.9 goals per game. They have 11 shutouts between them.

OVERTIME:

1. St. Louis has surrendered just 10 goals over its last nine home contests.

2. The Wild are a league-worst 10-9-5 when scoring first.

3. Blues forward David Perron has seven goals during a six-game points streak.
