Kings at Blackhawks


THE STORY: The Los Angeles Kings conclude their four-game road trip Sunday when they take on the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center. Los Angeles fell to 1-2-0 on the trek following a heartbreaking loss at Detroit on Friday. The Kings, who are two points behind eighth-place Colorado in the Western Conference, have lost two in a row following three straight wins. Chicago, which has won four of five both overall and at home, has lost only twice in its last 11 in the Windy City.

ABOUT THE KINGS (31-25-12): Los Angeles has struggled on the road of late, losing five of seven and nine of 13. Anze Kopitar is riding a six-game points streak during which he has recorded three goals and four assists. Captain Dustin Brown had notched at least one point in each of his last seven contests. The streak began at home against Chicago on Feb. 25, when Brown recorded a natural hat trick and added an assist. Los Angeles has lost six of its last seven visits to Chicago.

ABOUT THE BLACKHAWKS (37-25-7): Captain Jonathan Toews is expected to miss his 10th consecutive game with a reported concussion but could return Tuesday against the league-leading St. Louis Blues. "I always think that the next game is going to be the (right) time, so I'd love to be in on Tuesday," Toews said. "Just take it one step at a time and hopefully (my return) is going to be sooner than later." Chicago enters Sunday sixth in the Western Conference, three points ahead of the Phoenix Coyotes. The Blackhawks trail the fifth-place Nashville Predators by six points.

OVERTIME:

1. The Kings have won two straight meetings with the Blackhawks after losing seven in a row.

2. Chicago has lost each of its last five games against Pacific Division teams.
