Islanders at Panthers
THE STORY: The Florida Panthers will need to locate their missing offense if they intend to wrap up the Southeast Division title. Coach Kevin Dineen's club has mustered just four goals over its last three games – a troubling sign for the Panthers, who own a four-point lead over second-place Washington. Florida will look to ignite its offense on Sunday when they attempt to complete a season sweep of the visiting New York Islanders.
TV: 5 p.m., MSG+, FSFL
ABOUT THE ISLANDERS (30-33-11): New York suffered its sixth setback in eight games when it failed to hold a third-period lead en route to a 4-3 loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday. Matt Moulson scored for the fifth time in six games to secure his team-leading 33rd goal of the season and 100th career. The rising star, however, has failed to dent the scoresheet in his last four matches with the Panthers.
ABOUT THE PANTHERS (36-24-14): Jason Garrison set a franchise record for goals by a defenseman with his 16th tally. Unfortunately for Garrison, the rest of his mates were unable to find the net as Florida dropped a 2-1 decision in a shootout to Edmonton on Friday. Tomas Fleischmann, who has collected three goals and four assists in his past eight games, is tied for the team lead with a career-high 54 points. He had a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win over the Islanders on Feb. 12.
OVERTIME:
1. All-Star John Tavares has one of the three goals that the Islanders have recorded this season versus Florida.
2. Florida's Stephen Weiss extended his season-high point streak to five games with an assist. He also set up a goal in the victory on Feb. 12.
