Kings at Blackhawks

The Los Angeles Kings attempt to continue their winning ways while cooling down Patrick Kane in the process as they conclude their four-game road trip against the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday. After losing four of its final five games in November (1-1-3), Los Angeles is unbeaten this month - winning all six of its contests. The Kings extended their streak Saturday afternoon with a 5-2 triumph at Ottawa as Anze Kopitar scored twice while Jeff Carter and Dwight King each recorded a goal and two assists.

Chicago hopes Kane can help it solve Martin Jones, who posted his fifth win in as many NHL starts. The Blackhawks' sniper enters the contest with a point streak that reached eight games Saturday, as he scored a pair of goals in a 7-3 loss at Toronto. Kane has recorded at least one point in nine straight home games and 20 of his last 21 overall contests.

ABOUT THE KINGS (22-7-4): Los Angeles hardly has missed a beat since Jonathan Quick went down with a groin injury. Ben Scrivens started the first 10 games during Quick's absence and went 6-1-3 with a pair of shutouts, allowing fewer than three goals in each outing. Jones took over and has been exceptional, yielding a total of five goals while matching Scrivens with back-to-back shutouts and two goals against or fewer in each start.

ABOUT THE BLACKHAWKS (23-7-5): Unlike the Kings, Chicago ended November with a bang - winning its final six games of the month. The Blackhawks have been mediocre in December, posting a 3-3-1 record over their first seven games but scoring a total of 19 goals in the victories. Kane has recorded multi-point performances in six of the eight games during his streak, including each of the last four contests.

OVERTIME

1. Kane is second in the league in scoring with 44 points - two fewer than Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby.

2. The Kings have held their opponents under three goals in each of their last 18 games (13-1-4). They also haven't allowed a first-period tally in that span.

3. Chicago acquired G Jason LaBarbera from Edmonton on Saturday and assigned him to Rockford of the American Hockey League.
