Oilers at Ducks

The Anaheim Ducks attempt to extend their lead in the Pacific Division when they host the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday. Anaheim owns a one-point advantage over San Jose with two games in hand as it seeks its second straight division title and third in franchise history. The Ducks made an historic comeback Monday, rallying from a 4-0 deficit against Winnipeg to win in overtime on defenseman Stephane Robidas' goal 16 seconds into the extra session.

Edmonton kicked off its final road trip of the season on Tuesday, suffering a 5-4 setback against San Jose in the opener of the three-game trek. Ryan-Nugent Hopkins sandwiched goals around Jordan Eberle's as the Oilers rallied from a 3-1 deficit before allowing two tallies in a 1:56 span midway through the third period. Edmonton dropped its first two visits to Anaheim this campaign before posting a 4-3 overtime victory at home on Friday, when captain Andrew Ference tallied 3:51 into the extra session.

ABOUT THE OILERS (26-41-9): Ference's heroics in the Friday's win may have been his last as the defenseman missed his second straight contest Tuesday and likely is done for the season with a torn pectoral muscle. Ryan Smyth remains one power-play goal away from sole possession of the franchise record. The 38-year-old, who has not tallied with the man advantage since March 6, is tied with Glenn Anderson with 126 power-play goals.

ABOUT THE DUCKS (49-18-8): Monday's comeback was the largest in club history as Anaheim never had won when trailing by more than three goals. The team rallied from a three-goal deficit seven times, most recently on Jan. 23, 2010 at St. Louis. Anaheim, which visits Edmonton on Sunday for the third meeting in 10 days, is riding a five-game point streak (4-0-1) and trails St. Louis by three for the top spot in the Western Conference.

OVERTIME

1. Ducks C Mathieu Perreault extended his point streak to nine games with an assist against Winnipeg.

2. Edmonton's top line of Eberle, Nugent-Hopkins and LW Taylor Hall combined for four goals and six assists on Tuesday.

3. Anaheim LW Patrick Maroon has collected six assists during his five-game streak, scoring two goals along the way.
