Sabres 3, Canadiens 2 (SO)
Jochen Hecht scored the decisive goal in the 10th round of the shootout as the visiting Buffalo Sabres rallied from a two-goal deficit to post a 3-2 triumph over the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday.
Drew Stafford and Jason Pominville tallied in regulation and rookie Jhonas Enroth made 32 saves for the Sabres, who have won six of seven on the road and improved to 4-0-1 in their last five overall.
After Montreal defenseman James Wisniewski started the 10th round by missing the net, Hecht slid the puck between All-Star Carey Price's right skate and the left post to complete Buffalo's comeback victory.
With the Sabres down 2-0, Stafford converted a power-play chance late in the second period for his ninth goal in five games and Pominville tallied at 6:08 of the third to forge a tie.
Max Pacioretty got Montreal on the board during a power play at 4:54 of the first period, extending his point streak to five games with his fourth goal in as many contests. Benoit Pouliot doubled the lead 6 1/2 minutes into the second.
Price stopped 30 shots for the Canadiens, who are 5-1-3 in their last nine at home.
