Islanders 4, Senators 3 (SO)

Frans Nielsen and Rob Schremp scored in the shootout as the streaking New York Islanders extended their winning streak to four games with a 4-3 victory over the host Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night

Red-hot rookie Michael Grabner had a shorthanded goal and an assist for the Islanders, giving him 10 tallies in a six-game goal-scoring streak.

Blake Comeau and Josh Bailey also scored for the Islanders, who sent Ottawa to its 12th loss in 13 games.

Rookie Bobby Butler had a goal and an assist for Ottawa, but his tying attempt in the shootout was stopped by rookie Nathan Lawson to end it.

Lawson, playing for the first time since Jan. 21, made 28 saves to post his first career victory.

The Senators also got goals from Ryan Shannon and Erik Karlsson and a pair of assists from Milan Michalek.
