Jarret Stoll scored the only goal in the shootout and the surging Los Angeles Kings continued their sensational play on the road with a 4-3 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday night.
Jonathan Quick made 21 saves and turned aside all three shots in the shootout as the Kings improved to 5-0-2 on their franchise-record 10-game road trip.
Justin Williams, Andrei Loktionov and Drew Doughty scored for Los Angeles, which has gone 8-0-2 in its last 10 games to storm back into playoff contention.
Jakub Voracek, Rick Nash and Kris Russell tallied for the Blue Jackets, who lost for just the second time in seven games.
Doughty's 60-foot blast at 6:08 of the third period gave Los Angeles its third one-goal lead of the game, but Russell scored with 83 seconds remaining to send the game into overtime.
After Stoll connected in the shootout, Quick stymied Kristian Huselius to improve to 7-0-1 in his last eight games.
Mathieu Garon, making just his second start since Jan. 18, made 26 saves for Columbus.
