Wild 3, Ducks 2 (OT)
Pierre-Marc Bouchard scored at 4:53 of overtime to lead the Minnesota
Wild to a 3-2 triumph over the struggling Ducks in Anaheim on Friday
night.
The game appeared headed for a shootout before Bouchard ended it,
beating netminder Dan Ellis to spoil his Anaheim debut. The win vaulted the
Wild into a tie with the Los Angeles Kings for fifth place in the
Western Conference standings.
John Madden and Clayton Stoner added goals in regulation for the Wild,
with Stoner's second of the season at 15:03 of the third period giving
Minnesota a temporary 2-1 lead.
Francois Beauchemin forced extra time for Anaheim, scoring his third of
the campaign with two minutes left in the third period. Bobby Ryan had
the other goal for the Ducks, who peppered Minnesota netminder Jose
Theodore with 48 shots but still dropped their fifth consecutive game.
Ellis, who was acquired in a trade with the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday, made 28 saves in defeat.
