Rookie Brandon McMillan snapped a tie with 8:37 remaining in the third period and the Anaheim Ducks went on to snap their five-game losing streak with a 3-2 home triumph over the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday.
Captain Ryan Getzlaf and Todd Marchant also scored while Dan Ellis made 22 saves for the Ducks, who halted a four-game skid at the Honda Center. Anaheim is 1-1-1 on its seven-game homestand.
During a power play, Bobby Ryan unleashed a one-timer from the left faceoff circle that Peter Budaj stopped. McMillan spotted the rebound in the crease and poked it in for his ninth goal of the season.
Kevin Porter gave Colorado the lead in the first period with his second goal in 16 games, but Anaheim jumped ahead in the second. Getzlaf extended his point streak to eight contests at 1:43 with his 16th tally and Marchant scored his first goal since March 17 with 2:09 remaining, ending his 70-game drought.
David Jones beat Ellis with a wrist shot from the top of the left circle 1:43 into the third, forging a 2-2 tie with his third goal in two games.
Budaj stopped 29 shots for the Avalanche, who have lost nine of 11 on the road and fell to 1-12-1 in their last 14 overall.
