Bruins 1, Senators 0
Tuukka Rask stopped 33 shots to give the Boston Bruins their sixth consecutive win, a 1-0 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night.
Rask held off the Senators attack after a late third-period penalty on Bruins forward Brad Marchand and a flurry in the final minute, including a shot by Senators centre Zack Smith that went just wide of the net.
Rask’s stellar performance marked the third time this season that Boston (37-19-7) has shut out Ottawa (21-33-9). Tim Thomas was in net for the previous two shutouts.
Nathan Horton recorded the game’s only goal at 1:43 of the third period on a wrist shot past Senators goalie Craig Anderson. It was Horton’s 18th on the year and his fourth goal in five games.
Craig Anderson turned away 20 shots for the Senators, who remain last in the NHL’s Eastern Conference.
