Oilers 2, Predators 1 (SO)
Linus Omark scored in the fourth round of the shootout, lifting the Edmonton Oilers to a 2-1 victory over the visiting Nashville Predators on Tuesday night.
Martin Gerber, appearing in his third game of the season, stopped Cody Franson's attempt in the shootout to clinch Edmonton's second win over Nashville in 22 days.
The 36-year-old Gerber, who spent last season in Russia, made 34 saves in his first start since Nov. 29. He improved to 3-0 on the season.
Predators rookie Blake Geoffrion, appearing in his third NHL game, scored his first career goal to put Nashville ahead at 12:45 of the opening period.
The lead was short-lived, however, as Jim Vandermeer tied it for the Oilers just 41 seconds later.
Pekka Rinne turned aside 25 shots for the Predators, who lost for the fifth time in sixth games.
