Canucks 3, Kings 1
All-Star Daniel Sedin snapped a tie with 8:24 remaining in the third period and Roberto Luongo made 21 saves for the 300th victory of his career as the Vancouver Canucks kicked off their five-game road trip Saturday with a 3-1 triumph over the Los Angeles Kings.
Jannik Hansen and Alex Burrows also scored for the Canucks, who have won 14 of their last 20 road games.
Luongo stopped 21 shots to became the 25th goaltender to reach 300 wins for his career.
Jonathan Quick stopped defenseman Christian Ehrhoff's shot, but Sedin buried the rebound from the left side of the crease for his 33rd goal and league-leading 80th point of the season. Burrows sealed the win with an empty-netter in the final minute.
Dustin Penner got Los Angeles on the board 5 1/2 minutes into the game with his 22nd goal of the season and first since being acquired from Edmonton at Monday's trade deadline. Penner won a battle for the puck in the left corner and caromed it off Luongo and in for a 1-0 lead.
Hansen forged a tie at 9:16 as he slid a backhander around Quick after receiving a pass from Raffi Torres.
Quick stopped 33 shots for the Kings, who fell to 3-2 on their six-game homestand and 12-3-3 in their last 18 overall.
