Canucks 3, Blue Jackets 2

Rookie Cody Hodgson tied the game early in the third period and Alex Burrows snapped the deadlock with a power-play goal at 8:29 as the Vancouver Canucks extended their winning streak against the host Columbus Blue Jackets to eight games with a 3-2 comeback victory on Monday.

Chris Higgins also tallied and Cory Schneider made 23 saves for Vancouver, which has won six straight at Nationwide Arena.

After Steve Mason denied his first stuff attempt, Burrows banged in his own rebound from the right side of the net for his first goal of the season.

Columbus' Cam Atkinson scored his first goal in his third career game at 8:42 of the first period, beating Schneider from alone in the slot, and Vinny Prospal tallied with 86 seconds remaining in the middle session to give the Blue Jackets a 2-1 lead.

Maksim Mayorov failed to convert a penalty shot 51 seconds into the third, and Hodgson netted the equalizer for Vancouver just over a minute later.

Mason stopped 22 shots for Columbus, which is 0-for-16 on the power play this campaign after coming up empty on five chances. The Blue Jackets have lost 11 of their last 12 home games dating to last season.
