Oilers 3, Canucks 2
Taylor Hall had a goal and an assist as the Edmonton Oilers scored three times in a 5:02 span of the second period to chase Roberto Luongo en route to a 3-2 victory over the visiting Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday.
Jordan Eberle and Shawn Horcoff scored the first two goals of the outburst – each their first of the season – and Nikolai Khabibulin made 35 saves as the Oilers (4-2-2) avenged a 4-3 loss to the Canucks on Oct. 15. Eberle also had an assist.
Luongo was replaced by Cory Schneider after Hall’s goal at 6:55 of the second period. Luongo faced 14 shots.
Schneider robbed Eberle with a diving glove stop along the ice with 6:29 left in the third to keep it a one-goal game.
Cody Hodgson and Alexandre Burrows scored for the Canucks (4-4-1), who had their two-game winning streak snapped.
David Booth, who was acquired in a trade from Florida over the weekend, took three shots and played 15:49 in his Canucks debut.
