Captain Jonathan Toews snapped a tie late in the second period and the Chicago Blackhawks held on for a 2-1 road victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.
Andrew Brunette also scored, defenseman Duncan Keith had two assists and Corey Crawford improved to 4-0-0 lifetime against the Kings with 26 saves for Chicago, which concluded its 3-3-0 road trip and extended its winning streak over Los Angeles to seven games.
The Blackhawks are 10-0-1 in their last 11 meetings with the Kings.
With less than 3 1/2 minutes remaining in the second, Viktor Stalberg's deflection of a point shot by defenseman Duncan Keith went wide of the net. The puck caromed off the end boards and directly to Toews, who tapped it into the net from the left side of the crease for his 13th goal of the season.
Jarret Stoll snapped a 17-game goalless drought for Los Angeles, which began a four-game homestand with just its second regulation loss in seven contests (4-2-1).
Kings center Mike Richards failed to tally, ending his five-game goal-scoring streak, while Jonathan Quick fell to 2-9-1 lifetime against Chicago.
