Captain Alex Ovechkin added a pair of assists in his second contest back after missing a game with a lower body injury.
Johansson netted his 12th goal on a wraparound 32 seconds into the contest to open the scoring.
Alexander Semin doubled the advantage just over three minutes later after he stripped Maple Leafs defenseman Luke Schenn of the puck and fired a wrister past James Reimer.
Toronto coach Ron Wilson called a timeout after the goal, but it failed to rally the Maple Leafs.
