Wizards 97, 76ers 76

WIZARDS 97, 76ERS 76: Cartier Martin came off the bench to score 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting in his second game of the season as host Washington snapped a five-game slide. Philadelphia has not won back-to-back games in three weeks.

Nene added 16 points and eight rebounds and Jordan Crawford scored 17 for the Wizards, who had lost the three previous meetings with the 76ers by an average of 21.3 points.

Philadelphia has dropped six of its last nine games to fall one game below Boston in the Atlantic Division. The Celtics won at Minnesota later Friday.

Washington jumped out to a 23-15 lead after the first quarter and stretching it to 55-36 at the break. Philadelphia forward Andre Iguodala (seven points), who had missed the two previous games with a knee injury, was little help as the team shot 37.5 percent in the half.

The Wizards dominated the inside with Nene and Kevin Seraphin, who scored 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting, and rookie Jan Vesely (11 rebounds).

Martin was signed to a 10-day contract and made his debut Thursday in a loss to Indiana. The former Kansas State star looked like he belonged on Friday, torching the 76ers’ vaunted defense with four 3-pointers.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Evan Turner was the only Philadelphia starter to reach double figures in scoring with 11 points … The Wizards built up a 52-38 advantage on the glass … The 76ers ended up shooting 36.6 percent.
