Blackhawks 5, Coyotes 2

Marian Hossa scored a power-play goal in his return to the lineup and Dave Bolland added a goal and an assist as the Chicago Blackhawks skated to a 5-2 road victory over the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday.

Captain Jonathan Toews, Jamal Mayers and Bryan Bickell also scored while Patrick Sharp and Duncan Keith each had two assists for Chicago, which improved to 4-1-3 in its last eight meetings with Phoenix.

Hossa, who missed Saturday's shootout loss to Boston with an upper body injury, opened the scoring late in the first period by beating Jason LaBarbera with a one-timer from the left faceoff circle during a 5-on-3 advantage.

Each team scored twice in the middle session before Bolland gave the Blackhawks a 4-2 lead while shorthanded at 2:27 of the third. Radim Vrbata turned over the puck just inside Phoenix's blue line, and Bolland blasted the puck past LaBarbera from the slot for his team-leading fourth goal.

Taylor Pyatt and Ray Whitney tallied for the Coyotes, who have lost eight of their last nine games against Western Conference opponents. LaBarbera stopped 30 shots in falling to 4-1 lifetime against Chicago.
