Kings 2, Coyotes 0

Jonathan Quick made 28 saves en route to his second consecutive shutout and 100th career victory as the Los Angeles Kings recorded a 2-0 road triumph over the Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday.

Captain Dustin Brown and Kyle Clifford scored for the Kings, who have won four straight meetings with the Coyotes.

Quick turned aside 11 shots in the first period, seven in the second and 10 in the third en route to his 16th career shutout. The 25-year old, who also blanked St. Louis on Tuesday, is tied with Jamie Storr for second place on the Kings'all-time shutout list.

Quick is the third goaltender to register 100 victories with Los Angeles, joining Rogie Vachon (171) and Kelly Hrudey (145).

Brown gave Quick all the offensive support he needed 56 seconds into the middle period when he buried his own rebound from the doorstep during a power play. Clifford doubled the lead with 4:37 remaining in the session, converting a cross-slot pass from Kevin Westgarth for his first goal of the season.

Mike Smith made 20 saves for Phoenix, which went 1-2 on its three-game homestand.
