Daymond Langkow scored 4:16 into overtime as the Phoenix Coyotes skated to a 3-2 home triumph over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday in a battle of Pacific Division rivals.
Radim Vrbata tallied twice in the second period and Martin Hanzal notched a pair of assists for his third multi-point game in four contests for Phoenix, which improved to 3-0-1 since dropping a 2-0 decision to Los Angeles on Oct. 20.
Mike Smith turned aside 36 shots to improve to 6-2-0 in his career versus Los Angeles.
In overtime, Vrbata forced a turnover in the neutral zone and fed Langkow, who wristed a shot past Jonathan Quick to snap the Coyotes' four-game losing skid to the Kings.
After Mike Richards opened the scoring, Vrbata leveled the contest with his first goal since Oct. 10 by wristing a shot past Quick. Vrbata struck again nearly 10 minutes later to record his second straight multi-point game.
Anze Kopitar scored for the first time in 10 games versus Phoenix and Mike Richards also tallied for Los Angeles, which welcomed back All-Star defenseman Drew Doughty from a shoulder injury.
