Senators 3, Maple Leafs 2

Kaspars Daugavins' first career NHL goal stood as the game winner as the Ottawa Senators extended their winning streak to six games with a 3-2 triumph over the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday night.

Daugavins' floater 7:08 into the third period somehow slipped past Jonas Gustavsson from the top of the right circle, giving the Senators a 3-1 lead.

Clarke MacArthur's second goal of the game trimmed the deficit just two minutes later, but Toronto couldn't convert the equalizer as it fell in regulation for just the third time in 11 games.

Robin Lehner preserved the victory with a 23-save performance as Ottawa extended its longest winning streak in two years.

Toronto counterpart Gustavsson stopped 27 shots in defeat.

After MacArthur and Ottawa's Colin Greening traded first-period goals, the Senators surged ahead at 7:59 of the second. Erik Karlsson blasted a one-timer from just inside the blue line that Chris Neil deflected past Gustavsson.
