Ducks 4, Coyotes 1

Andrew Cogliano scored a pair of goals as visiting Anaheim sent Arizona to its franchise record-tying 10th consecutive defeat.

Jakob Silfverberg recorded a goal and two assists while Ryan Kesler matched Cogliano with a short-handed tally as the Pacific Division-leading Ducks won their third in a row. Frederik Andersen, back in net after missing 10 games due to a neck injury, turned aside 29 shots to register his 30th victory.

Rookie Tobias Rieder notched the lone goal for the Coyotes, who also suffered 10 straight losses in February 1994, when the franchise was based in Winnipeg. Mike Smith made 31 saves en route to his ninth consecutive setback.

With Arizona on the power play, Kesler corralled a loose puck, cut between two defenders and beat Smith low 13 1/2 minutes into the game. Cogliano doubled the lead near the six-minute mark of the second period, lifting his stick high to redirect a point blast between the legs of Smith on a goal that was upheld by video review.

Rieder cut the deficit in half 3 1/2 minutes later, beating Andersen to the short side with a backhander, but Silfverberg restored the two-goal cushion at 7:21 with a brilliant individual effort. Silfverberg ripped a shot off the far post before batting the puck to himself with his left glove and tucking it past a surprised Smith.
