Hurricanes at Jets
THE STORY: The Winnipeg Jets are feasting off their home cooking toward a potential postseason berth. Coach Claude Noel's club will vie for its fifth straight victory at the MTS Centre on Sunday when it concludes its three-game homestand against the Carolina Hurricanes. Winnipeg posted a 3-2 victory over Washington on Friday to move to within two points of the eighth-place Capitals in the Eastern Conference standings.

ABOUT THE HURRICANES (28-29-15): Drayson Bowman tallied twice and an added an assist as Carolina rallied for a 5-3 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday. Brian Boucher made his first start since Dec. 5 and recorded his first victory. After securing his 200th career victory on Thursday, Cam Ward is expected to return to the ice versus Winnipeg. Ward improved to 20-10-3 in his career versus the Jets/Thrashers by stopping 29 of 30 shots in a 2-1 victory on Jan. 23.
ABOUT THE JETS (34-29-8): After Sunday's tilt, Winnipeg will play seven of its remaining 10 contests away from Manitoba. Noel's club is 11-19-4 on the road. Regardless of where their games are played, the Jets are hoping that Evander Kane continues his incredible hot stretch. Kane, who has collected nine goals and 18 points in his last 13 games, set up defenseman Dustin Byfuglien for the game-winner in a 3-2 victory over the Capitals. Kane has three goals and an assist versus Carolina this season.
OVERTIME:
1. Carolina captain Eric Staal is mired in a nine-game goalless drought. Staal's next tally will grant him his seventh straight season with at least 20 goals.
2. Winnipeg D Zach Bogosian is slated to return after missing 12 of his last 13 games with a wrist ailment and lower body injuries.
3. Jets D Mark Stuart was fined $2,500 for his late hit on Washington's Marcus Johansson during Friday contest.
